If the existing garage door opener is in good condition, and up to UL listing codes, with safety sensors and matched to the new door weight, then yes, the existing garage door opener can be reinstalled. If it’s old, underpowered, or noisy, we will recommend replacing it at the same time the garage door is being replaced, so the warranty covers the whole system.
